31 thoughts on “Dark Winds Season 1 Soundtrack”

  1. What is the song playing on the radio, when the female sheriff comes across the Mormons empty car? Starts at minute 26, season 1 , episode 2 .

  2. Please… Please: season 1, episode 4. The song playing at the end when he’s sitting at the table. It’s not the Shy Guys. Shazam can’t find it. Sounds like Hickory Hollow…

      1. No I didn’t type anything about end credits. The song cuts abruptly( man singing “People!” ) as he’s at the table and then the voiceover announces: ” Next week on Dark Winds”)… Just watch the scene man.
Song lyrics: Can you see the mountain top. Can you hear the birds?…….people! And there’s 2 or 3 other male singers echoing him in the background. Just listen to it man. You’ll know what I’m saying.

we simply said the song you referred to, by The Shy Guys, is not in the scene you mentioned. we can’t identify at the moment the song you are looking for

          1. “Simply” is a stretch. You never replied that you at least recognized that song and you just “simply” don’t know the name of it. The most intriguing sound of the whole soundtrack and nobody knows who it is… That’s not an accident. Kind of cool, if you know who it is anyway. Thanks for looking. Maybe it’ll pop up; things tend to.

  3. Wrong Song listing Dark Winds Episode 4 Hooghandi…
End Credits song is not Shy Guy’s Black Lightening Light.
Not sure what actual song is, but not one listed.
Thanks for all the work put into this site!

      1. Jason is correct… you think you identified it correct but you didn’t. The lyrics aren’t even close. The vocals are no match. The tune is similar with the riff sounding close. This is one of those songs that you said are harder to identify. You guys do good work. You’re to be commended. This one you got wrong.

      2. Jason and Paxman are correct. It is NOT the Shy Guys’ “Black Lighting Light”. If it is the Shy Guys, then it isn’t that song. It’s as if this song doesn’t exist. I have typed ALL lyrics that we can hear in the few second this song plays, but nothing. Siri couldn’t get it, Soundhound couldn’t, Shazaam couldn’t. Maybe it was some friends of the music producer and they put it in for fun…? It is such a great song!! I am so super sad none of us can find it. Please help, anyone 🙂

        1. Thank you Jessica, I did the same thing and found absolutely nothing, zilch. Nothing worked. There is a lost void somewhere in the universe that the song popped out of, landed on this soundtrack, and then went right back where it came from! 😅🤣😂

        2. I did manage to track down the guys from Hickory Hollow to ask them if they had put out any more music other than the one 7-in record that I know already. That is the only music they ever put out as a band and it was back in the ’60s. One single 7-in record, Hickory Hollow-Never Happen (fantastic music). one song on each side. They sound almost exactly like this mystery song and I asked the guys to check it out. I’m waiting for that response. I need to know the name of the song damn it. It’s literally the only song in the entire world, that I like, and don’t know the name of. Very frustrating for a DJ.

          1. Joey Singer, Crystal Cleared Music, Inc….
This is the company listed on IMDB for doing the music clearance for Dark Winds… perhaps this is a worthwhile place for you to check. If it was copyrighted, I am sure it had to be cleared. Let me know if you learn something.

    1. Jason is correct… you think you identified it correct but you didn’t. The lyrics aren’t even close. The vocals are no match. The tune is similar with the riff sounding close. This is one of those songs that you said are harder to identify. You guys do good work. You’re to be commended. This one you got wrong.

      1. Hey Paxman Google Hickory Hollow: Never Happen. Tell me there’s not a serious resemblance. Thing is that one 7″ vinyl record is the only thing I’ve ever been able to find from them, which is a shame all in itself.

        1. Yes, this amazingly sounds much more like the song from this episode we are speaking of, much more closely than Shy Guys. Thanks for sharing!

          1. If you find anything else I’d like to know what you find. Musitron (Imagination In Sound) was the record label. There is one 7″ vinyl of Hickory Hollow with Never Happen and one other song going for $350. Pretty rare shit to come across indeed.

  4. I’m wondering what song is playing on Dark Winds Season 1 Episode 3 at 30:48-31:19 when Wendy is driving at night to meet Benjamin. Thank you!

    1. Lester is playing Tin Roof Blues, performed by Barney Bigard and Art Hodes. The song has its own Wikipedia page with information about who wrote it and different covers of it.

  5. What is the name of the song and artist/band starting at 16:10 of the show Dark Winds, season 1, episode 1, when we first see Deputy Chee driving on a desert road to get to the Indian Tribal Police for his first day as a deputy tribal officer there. (I recorded it on my DVR and the 16:10 mark was from that recording).

    1. I’m still waiting to know the song from episode 1, when Chee drives to the station (first time we meet him and after 2nd commercial break) and a friend thinks it’s the band T.H.E.M. and the song is “know what they do” but I can’t find that song anywhere online. Why they didn’t include this gem in the soundtrack is mystifying. But can someone, please, fin this song??

      1. Well, that is the closest anyone has yet come up with. I’m not familiar with “THEM,” but I am trying to go through their song catalog. The song you and I like starts out like “Born to be Wild” by Steppenwolf. So when the song began with Chee driving his car on the desert highway, I thought at first I would be hearing “Born to be Wild.”

      2. Hi K! I know I saw you post this before and I keep telling myself I will find this song for you, but keep forgetting. I accept this mission and give me until tomorrow when I can re-watch the scene and I will let you know. They just killed it with this entire soundtrack!
