[0:04′] We see people gathered in a park for the 9th Annual Barbecue Cookoff. Some are dancing, some are cooking barbecue and we see a band performing live. Doug and his brother are checking the temperature of the steak while Doug’s wife stirs the sauce.
2. Rock ’N’ Roll Shoes – Kay Williams
[0:13′] We are at the local bar where we see Dan drinking a few shots and looking at a beautiful woman who is singing the song live on stage. He asks for another round and the woman who sang earlier is joining him at the bar.
3. Any Town – William Brian Conner
[0:13′] Dan is asking for another round of drinks when the woman who sang the song earlier joins him at the bar. They start talking with each other, flirting a little but when she asks him what is he trying to forget by drinking he hesitates and she grabs her purse and leaves.
4. Amazing Grace – Cheryl Renee Lynch
[0:16′] After getting a call regarding his brother in the middle of the night, Doug tells his wife Terri they have to go back to Naples. The church choir is singing the song and it seems Jeff, Doug’s brother has passed away.
5. Gymnopedie No. 1 – Andrew David Prosser & Mark David Allaway
[0:18′] When he gets up to say a few words about his brother at his funeral, Doug is overcome with emotion and leaves the church. We hear the song again at Jeff’s house when Doug says he’s going for a walk. While talking with his wife we find out Jeff passed away because of a heart attack, like their father and their uncle too.
6. Burning The Midnight Oil – Thomm Jutz & Peter Cronin
[0:21′] The scene takes place in Danbury, Connecticut and the song is playing on the radio while a man is fixing his car and a woman is asking him about some newspapers regarding an aviation accident from July 18th, 1996. We find out the man’s name is Kari and his father had something to do with that accident.
7. Spirit In The Sky – Norman Greenbaum
[0:31′] The song is being played while Doug and his family are taking off on a private plane to go home after the funeral proceedings of his brother. At his wife’s request, the pilot asks Doug to sit on the co-pilot seat to cheer him up a little.
8. Hallelujah – Lucy Thomas
[1:25′] Just as Kari told him, Doug lets go of the plane, inches away from the airline, the plane touches down. They are alive and well. Emergency responders are arriving at the scene.
9. Let’s Celebrate – R Wayne Tester Project
[1:30′] Dan finds out he’s up for the big promotion. Donna’s Dad comes home and she tells her parents about the day she’s had. Kari finally admits his feelings and professes his love to his girlfriend, Ashley. Back at the bar, the beautiful lady that Dan met at the bar is singing the song live. They meet and start talking. Dan asks her to come with him to pick up a new phone after they grab a coffee.
