[1:36’] Joseph appears on stage. Montalembert points a pistol at Joseph, but he doesn’t budge and goes straight to the Marquis. In response to the audience chanting ‘Liberté’, Montalembert abandons the plan to kill him.

[1:27’] Joseph awakens to the sounds of street riots. Several revolutionaries are killed by gunfire.

[1:28’] Joseph goes to Philippe. He gave him the opera he wrote, requesting the funds to be donated to those in need and the rest to support the revolutionaries.

[1:20’] Joseph and Nanon visit a part of the city where black people speak their language and dance to their music.

[1:35’] As the Queen enters Joseph’s house, she assures him that he will not mock her and that there will not be a new France.
